In addition to the miles of sandy beaches that Kennebunkport has to offer, there are a number of attractions that make the town unique and a place you don?t want to miss. With York's boundaries was established the first English city in America. As such, the town has a rich history to discover. The town's historical society maintains the Museums of Old York, nine museum buildings, a nature preserve, art gallery and restored garden. The museum is also home to one of the first jails on American soil.

The town of York is host to a number of annual events, the largest of which is York Days, a week-long celebration in the midst of summer that includes concerts, tournaments, sandcastle building, fairs and fireworks. The event includes a two-day craft fair along with a road race.
